Product Safety & FDA Compliance

All cosmetic and beauty products sold on Lemonade comply with FDA regulations under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). We ensure that products are properly labeled, free from prohibited ingredients, and manufactured in registered facilities. Our suppliers provide Certificates of Analysis (COA) for all cosmetic products, verifying ingredient safety and purity. We conduct random batch testing to confirm ongoing compliance.

FTC Advertising Guidelines

Lemonade adheres to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines for advertising and endorsement disclosures. All product claims are substantiated by evidence. Affiliates and creators in our programs are required to clearly disclose their relationship with Lemonade in accordance with FTC endorsement guides. We regularly audit affiliate content for compliance.

CPSC & General Product Safety

Jewelry and accessory products comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requirements, including lead content limits for children's jewelry and adult metal jewelry safety standards. Products are tested for nickel release, cadmium content, and other hazardous substances. Our compliance team reviews all new products before listing.

AGOA Rules of Origin

Products in our Africa Pipeline initiative comply with the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) rules of origin. This includes verifying that products are manufactured, processed, or assembled in eligible sub-Saharan African countries with sufficient local content. We work with community representatives and customs brokers to maintain proper documentation for duty-free entry into the United States.

Data Protection & Privacy

Lemonade complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for European users and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. We maintain a data processing register, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new processing activities, and provide mechanisms for data subject access requests. Environmental Compliance

We are committed to environmental responsibility. Our packaging complies with applicable recycling labeling requirements. We are working toward FSC-certified packaging for all shipments and are phasing out single-use plastics in our supply chain. Product suppliers must provide documentation of compliance with local environmental regulations in their manufacturing countries.
